Lee Trevino's Fighting Golf
115k
This is a neat golf game - I rented this long ago, and it's still a fun game now. If you want a quick game of golf, this is your ticket!
Legendary Wings
81k
Better in the arcade, this game still managed to be a fun shooter. Co-op play make this a good one for an evening spent with a bowl of popcorn as big as a dog, a 2-liter of pop, a sleep-over, and a friend.
Legend of the Ghost Lion
136k
This late-era RPG really didn't impress people very much, but I enjoyed it simply because it eschewed the typical 'rescue the princess' or 'defeat the dark lord' kind of stuff. Summoning spirits is a bit different.
Legend of Zelda
64k
Does this game really need an introduction? A perfect marriage of exploration, fighting, and overworld/underworld adventuring, The Legend of Zelda does everything right.
Legend of Zelda 2
87k
The red-headed stepchild of the Zelda family, Zelda II: The Adventure of Link is a challenging, interesting game, if you're willing to accept that it's completely different from the first Zelda.
Lifeforce
89k
This one that I begged for my parents to buy for me at Toys 'R' Us all those years ago. I'm not much of a shooter fan, so I'm not sure why - but it remains a challenging, graphically impressive shooter.
Little Nemo the Dream Master
148k
I thought it then, and I stand by it now - this game looks like it could be 16-bit. Great color palette, cute and cartoony characters, and good platforming adventuring.
Magic of Scheher azade
149k
Despite having the most cliched of all cliched storylines and a frequenly hideous color palette, Magic of Scheherazade manages to be quite enjoyable.
Maniac Mansion
156k
A great adventure title, faithfully converted to the NES. It's a funny adventure with several different paths to the end.
Mega Man
78k
I've never been the biggest Mega Man fan in the world - I think they've crapped out far too many too-similar sequels in too short a time. Still, it's solid platforming action.
Mega Man 2
133k
  And the sequelitis begins..
Mega Man 3
218k
  And another one...
Mega Man 4
288k
A lot of people think that this is the best Mega Man ever.
Mega Man 5
261k
  Fifth one in 5 years...
Mega Man 6
254k
And the last one on the NES debuts at the nadir of the NES's life cycle.
Metroid
59k
Metroid - yet another one of the greatest games for the NES. It's just about always in the top 10 NES games of all time lists.
Might and Magic
268k
I've always been a fan of the Might and Magic series, even the latest Might and Magic IX that precipitated so much hatred and vitrol from reviewers. This one is graphically a bit painful, but fun in a slow, building kind of way.
Mighty Final Fight
143k
Think Double Dragon with Final Fight characters! The deformed character styles always bring a smile to my face. Ah, super-deformed characters!
Mike Tyson's Punch Out
131k
If you had an NES, you had Punch-out - or at least knew someone who did. It was 'the game' to beat, and whomping Mike Tyson earned you bragging rights. It's still a tough game!
Narc
73k
Great fun in the arcade, this game loses a little on the graphics side of things but remains a fun game. It's amusing to see how drug dealers explode in a cloud of intestines, gore, and shoes!
Ninja Gaiden
138k
This is another title that you owned if you had an NES, or at least knew someone that did. Tough as nails, many are the curses and broken controllers effected by this game.
Ninja Gaiden 2
163k
Despite the cheesy title, this game continues and adds to the gameplay of the original game in the series.
Ninja Gaiden 3
138k
More Ninja Gaiden, if you somehow haven't had enough after the first two.
Nobunaga's Ambition
108k
A relatively deep strategy game, bringing a new kind of gameplay to the NES. I still prefer Gemfire, though.
